Please can children in Year 2 bring wellies (or trainers that can get muddy) into school in a plastic bag tomorrow. We will be heading around the school grounds as part of our science work.
Thanks,
Mrs Pittaway

Dear Year 2 Parents,
I will be holding a short meeting straight afterschool on Tuesday 31st January 2023, to give information regarding the Year 2 SATS assessments and the imminent residential trip to Colomendy (16th-17th February). It will be an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the SATS or the trip.
The meeting will be held in Room 3, children won’t be able to attend the meeting but they will be looked after by another member of staff in a different classroom.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Mrs Pittaway
Happy New Year!
Below are the eBooks for this week that I’ve uploaded. Spellings should have come home tonight, a few books are still in the classroom ready for Monday.
Group A: Up to the stars
Group B: Sunflowers
Thank you,
Mrs Crane
Below is a link for all of the exciting things we are learning about this term.
Thank you,
Mrs Crane & Mrs Pittaway
Thank you! Thank you for all of the lovely gifts and cards, they are so kind of you all. I hope you have a lovely, restful Christmas break and a happy new year. The children should have come home with a little something from Mrs Pittaway, Miss Gwilliam and myself for them over the Christmas break.
There are two books for them to read as well as the eBooks below:
eBooks:
Group A: Stop that Popcorn
Group B & C: The Moonsnoop
Although we haven’t set any homework, we would much appreciate it if they could practise their 2, 5 and 10 times table as well as reading with you.
Looking forward to seeing the children again in the new year!
Mrs Crane

I would just like to say another huge well done to the children for making the nativity such a success this year! They all worked incredibly hard to learn their lines and songs. A special thank you to everyone at home who helped with learning their parts and sorting costumes.
We had an amazing Christmas party this afternoon! They danced their socks off… as did I!
Finally, I would like to thank you for all the Christmas wishes, cards and gifts. It is extremely kind.
I wish you all a merry Christmas and happy new year!
Mrs Pittaway
Don’t forget to bring in your party clothes for our Christmas party tomorrow.
We will get changed after lunch.
Thanks,
Mrs Pittaway
Hi all,
What a fantastic performance from all of the children this week at the nativity. We are all so proud of how they learnt their lines and delivered them with such confidence! Well done Y2! It was also great to see them all in their Christmas jumpers yesterday for Christmas dinner day.
This week we haven’t sent home spellings, we will practise some we have taught and learnt already next week and new spellings will be ready for the first week back in January.
Ebooks for this week are:
Group A: Snails
Group B: Creepy Crawly Hunt
Have a great weekend and I’ll see the children again next week!
Mrs Crane
Parties
Next week we will be holding our Christmas Parties on the following days.
Monday 12th December – Years 5 and 6
Tuesday 13th December – Years 3 and 4
Wednesday 14th December – EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2
Please remember to bring your party clothes in a named carrier bag for the afternoon and a contribution of £1 towards sweets and prizes would be most appreciated. Payments can be made via school money.
Post
The children may also use the school post boxes to post their Christmas cards for delivery by our Year 6 elves! The post boxes are in the area by the office.
Please remember to include the name and class name or year group on the envelope.
Last day for posting will be Thursday 15th December.
Thank you for your help with costumes! We did our first dress rehearsal today and the children look fantastic!
Some of the costumes are made of thin material so please make sure your child is wearing a vest (or two) on the performance days (5th, 6th and 7th) to help keep them warm.
