In addition to their normal PE sessions/days, all children in years 2 and 3 will be having free cricket training sessions every Tuesday next half term (Summer 2 – June/July). What a great opportunity!
Please can the children wear their normal PE kit on Tuesdays.
The children were great during our composting workshop today. The plants they have come home with are called Poached Egg Plants. They learnt about Peat Bogs and the people running the workshop explained to them that there is a Peat Bog you can visit in Shropshire. It’s called Wixall Moss and is between Wem and Whitchurch.
Next week, on Monday-Thursday, breakfast club will take place in the school library building (the brown building on the playground). Please drop children off at the front main entrance to the library, in the garden area.
This is due to Year 6 SATs taking place in the school hall. The breakfast club will return to the hall on Friday morning as usual.

This week I haven’t sent any spellings home as it is the camp next Thursday and Friday. I will send them home with the children next Friday (6th) for the following week. Hope you have a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Our PPS Year 3 Camp is next Thursday and Friday!
Please can children come to school in their adventure gear and with all of their kit. They will have a ‘normal’ school day on Thursday and then camp will begin.
At the end of the school day, on Thursday, children will go out to the school field and meet the camp leaders. They will make camp, enjoy activities, have tea, prep for bedtime and have a good night’s sleep (hopefully).
On Friday, we will have breakfast and then spend the day having fun with different activities, ending with the children returning home at normal time.
Mrs Crane, Miss Gwilliam and Miss Cooper will be with the children throughout the day (normal school hours). Myself and Mrs Andrew will be staying on-site overnight alongside a night watchperson who will be awake/up all night for any issues (they will wake me or Mrs Andrew if needed).
Children have been allocated to a tent based on who they would like to share with (we will let the children know this next week).
Any concerns or questions, please ask.
There will be a drop in maths session with me, Mr Morris, on the first two Thursdays of the term and then after that on Mondays. If you are worried how to teach your children the right way of doing things, or you want to get your own skills improved, then please turn up. So far, I know there are 3 Year 3 mums who are prepared to put up with me. It would be great if this number increased over time.

This week is Parents Evening. After this, some parents may decide they would like to further support their child with maths. I am going to be running a club for parents on a Monday night after Easter. This will be straight after school until 4:15. It may be you would just like to brush up on your own maths skills or would just like to know how to help your child. If you have any questions please email me at Nigel.Morris@ppce.co.uk or come around to Room 7/Year 5 at the end of the day. The club will be on a drop in basis and you would not need to come every week.
Please send your child in wearing their school uniform with their P.E. kit in a bag for school photos today.
Boys and girls will change for P.E. separately with adult supervision.
